How does browser image compression work?
Your photo is decoded and re-encoded with Canvas in this tab. Quality and max dimension controls trade file size vs clarity. Nothing is uploaded.
Will PNG get smaller?
PNG is lossless, so quality sliders do little. For smaller PNGs this tool can export JPEG or WebP instead when you lower quality.
Is this like Squoosh?
Same idea: local processing, no server. Kamero’s compressor uses browser Canvas codecs for a lightweight first version.
